Sabre Corporation has earned Level 4 certification as an
aggregator under the International Air Transport Association's certification
programme for New Distribution Capability standards, the travel technology
company announced.
The certification comes through its work with travel
management company Flight Centre Travel Group, with whom Sabre has been working
for the past two years in providing shopping and booking capabilities as a part
of its Beyond NDC programme. The certification means that Flight Centre's
agents will be able "to access an even wider choice of content and provide
their customers with an even greater degree of personalisation," according
to Flight Centre global head of supply John Beauvais.
IATA currently lists 20 companies, including Amadeus IT
Group and Travelport, as Level 4 certified, which indicates the capability for
full offer and order management. Sabre achieved Level 3 certification in 2018.
Sabre also announced that Minsk, Belarus-based carrier
Belavia has reached Level 3 NDC certification using Sabre's IT capabilities.
"As we ramp up our operations in response to the easing
of global lockdowns, our customers are increasingly demanding personalised
experiences and flexibility," according to Belavia deputy director general
of IT Uladzimir Barkun. "NDC plays a key role in enabling us to fulfil
those expectations, helping us to market our content more effectively."
