Payment and expense specialist Expensify has added natural language chat functionality to its ‘Concierge’ AI assistant, the company announced on Tuesday (4 November).
The updated AI agent uses a combination of AI-powered chat automation and “real-time human escalation”, which the company said allows it to provide ‘contextual’ support to help manage expenses.
“Expensify’s Concierge agent is ‘contextual’ in that it allows you to chat within the context of an individual expense or expense report,” said Expensify CEO and founder David Barrett. “It's the difference between ‘Tag my Starbucks expense on Nov 4 as coffee’ and ‘Tag this expense as coffee’,” he said.
Concierge understands natural language commands, auto-corrects ambiguous or incomplete expense details based on a user’s past activity and flags suspicious receipts, including those containing prohibited expenses, according to Expensify.
The agent is accessible via the Expensify app, with conversational support offered via chat, email and text, the company said.
The US-based company in August extended the rollout of its key products and services across Europe, and now provides support for billing in euros, in addition to UK pounds and US dollars.
