Rootliep takes over as UK general manager from Henri Hourcade, who has returned to France as vice president of sales.
Rootliep has spent the last five years as the company’s general manager in Germany.
He has more than 20 years experience in the airline industry and first joined KLM in 1990 and has occupied a number of roles for the airline including a spell as general manager for India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
