UK business events and meetings trade body Beam has named Sian Sayward, director of commercial partnerships, people & projects at Inntel, as its 2023 chair, and Julie Shorrock, managing director of Hotel and Travel Solutions as vice chair.
Both Sayward and Shorrock are long-serving board members of the association, previously known as the Hotel Booking Agents Association, and will maintain their respective roles as governance director and membership director.
“With our revitalised sense of purpose, our expanded board, action groups and broader membership, we are well set to grow and to drive the industry and the association forward,” said Sayward.
“I’m greatly looking forward to leading Beam with so many supportive colleagues. It’s an exciting challenge.”
With reassigned board member responsibilities, the association’s consultant executive director Juliet Price will move into a new role as development consultant where, according to the association, she will focus on a growth and expansion strategy and support directors.
