Travelport has appointed Guy Snelgar as commercial director to lead its UK sales and account management teams.
Snelgar has worked in the travel industry for 25 years, with experience at a major airline, all three GDSs, international hotel chain, TMC, a corporate online booking tool and a payment provider.
During that time he has gained experience across many sectors of the industry, from driving the van delivering ticket printers to travel agents, through to leading a business helping blue chip corporations plan and implement travel programmes across EMEA. He also operates as a supplier director at ITM.
Snelgar said: “I’m thrilled to be back at Travelport and to be joining at such an interesting time in the Company’s growth story. It’s been fascinating to see it transform from a traditional GDS to a Travel Commerce Platform. I’m now looking forward to telling that story and explaining how we can add real value to our customers’ business.”
