Rob Henderson
Sports and entertainment travel management specialist Travel Places has appointed former professional rugby player Rob Henderson as an executive consultant to help fuel the company’s expansion.
The UK-based TMC said that Henderson, who played for Ireland and the British & Irish Lions during his rugby union career, would work with its senior leadership team to drive “further growth”. Henderson is also the founder and CEO of professional services consultancy Avesco.
Travel Places, which has been operating for 45 years, arranges group travel to sporting events such as Formula One, FIFA World Cup and the Olympics and Paralympics.
“Rob’s track record of guiding businesses to their next level aligns brilliantly with our vision at Travel Places,” said Matthew Warren, joint managing director at the TMC. “His strategic acumen, network and passion for performance will be invaluable as we continue expanding our capabilities and impact across the sectors we work with.”
Henderson will help the TMC to scale its business, explore new markets and “strengthen its proposition in complex group travel and sustainable event planning”.
“They already lead in delivering travel solutions for sport, media and entertainment, and I look forward to helping them unlock new opportunities while staying true to their core values of responsibility, excellence and innovation,” added Henderson.
