Chrissy Taylor will be promoted to chief executive at Enterprise Holdings in 2020, making her only the fourth boss of the firm and the third generation of her family to take the helm.
Taylor – the daughter and granddaughter of former CEOs Andy and Jack Taylor respectively – will take up the position on 1 January, with current chief Pam Nicholson, who has held the role since 2013, due to retire at the end of 2019.
Taylor is currently president and chief operating officer, and as CEO will oversee the global strategy and operations of Enterprise Holdings, which owns and operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
She will become one of the top female CEOs across all industries based on company revenue, according to Enterprise. In addition to her new role, Taylor will retain her title of president.
Taylor began her career in the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Training Program and later moved to the group’s corporate headquarters to oversee regional operations through the US. In 2006, she relocated to London to further develop the company’s market in the UK, Germany and Ireland.
After obtaining her executive MBA from Washington University in St Louis in 2010, Taylor joined Enterprise Holdings’ treasury group, where she assisted in the financial restructuring of the company’s fleet management business. She was named EVP and COO in 2016 and president in 2019.
