Lauer extends term on Lufthansa board
Stefan Lauer has had his appointment to the Lufthansa board extended for five years to 2015 with added responsibilities.
As well as his role as labour director, Mr Lauer has also taken up the post of head of the expanded group airlines and corporate resources division.
This will include responsibility for airlines in the group which do not come under Lufthansa, including SWISS, Germanwings, SunExpress JetBlue and possibly in the future Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and bmi.
Mr Lauer, 54, has been an executive member of the board since 2000. He joined Lufthansa in 1990 as head of corporate executive personnel services.
In 1991, he became head of the chairman's office and in 1994, senior vp corporate strategy.
His next role was on the Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board charged with responsibility for marketing and sales in 1997. He took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of Lufthansa Cargo in early 2000.
