Elise Weber
Airfares benchmarking and risk management specialist Skytra has appointed co-founder Elise Weber as its new CEO.
Skytra, which is owned by aircraft manufacturer Airbus, was co-founded in 2019 by Weber and Matthew Tringham, who now becomes managing director.
The company provides data and regulated air travel price indices, with the goal of “reinventing risk management” for the aviation industry.
Weber previously spent 17 years at Airbus in global leadership roles across strategy, performance management, manufacturing and communications before co-founding Skytra. She replaces Mark Howarth, who is leaving after more than two years as Skytra’s CEO.
“The air travel industry faces significant challenges as it rebuilds following a period of incredible stress,” said Weber. “Skytra’s data and risk management solutions addressing pricing, volume and revenue risks in the aviation value chain are more relevant than ever.
“It’s time for Skytra to accelerate its growth to better serve the sector with its existing product lines and to reduce the time to market for new solutions. This is going to be the main focus for the immediate future.”
