Michael Meissner, Sixt USA's new president and COO
Car rental company Sixt has appointed Michael Meissner as its president and chief operating officer for the USA.
The appointment takes immediate effect and is designed to drive growth for the German rental firm in the world’s largest car rental market, where it is currently the number four player.
Meissner has been with Sixt for 13 years and was previously managing director for Italy, where he tripled sales volumes in three years.
Sixt’s chief operating officer, Nico Gabriel, said, “As the world’s largest car rental market, the USA offers us considerable growth potential due to increasing consolidation. Our goal is to develop the USA into the largest market for Sixt.
“To achieve this, we will be focusing on the analogue and digital expansion of our station network. Especially in inner city locations, we will offer our customers flexible and convenient services by expanding our digital mobility services"
At the end of 2020, Sixt appointed travel manager and former Hertz CFO, Thomas Kennedy as its CFO for Sixt US.
