Brett Ring
SilverRail has appointed Brett Ring as its new vice president of commercial as the specialist technology firm looks to further improve how TMCs sell rail.
Ring, who was formerly global sales director at Trainline, has been working in the travel technology sector for more than 10 years.
The company said it was at a “pivotal point” for growth as it looks to help increase the number of business travellers using the UK’s rail network.
“It’s an exciting time to be joining SilverRail,” said Ring. “With the rail industry becoming increasingly central to the journeys of business travellers thanks to its cost, convenience and environmental benefits, we have an opportunity to make rail the UK’s first-choice mode of transport.
“It is a privilege to join SilverRail at such a crucial juncture, with the business’ digital infrastructure putting it in a unique position to make rail easy for operators, agencies and travellers.”
SilverRail, which was set up in 2009, currently distributes tickets for more than 35 rail providers and carriers with 30 million bookings processed annually. The company said it has in excess of 1,500 corporate customers around the world.
Cameron Jones, SilverRail’s chief strategy and commercial officer, added: “Rail carriers, technology providers and agencies must work together to harness the digital tools that can simplify the customer journey and increase the number of people on our trains.
“Brett brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that will strengthen this offering, support our growing commercial team, and enable us to help even more travel management companies successfully sell rail to an ever-changing, expanding market."
