bmi names new head of communications
British airline bmi has appointed Sam Day as its new head of commercial communications, with immediate effect.
Ms Day will be based at London Heathrow where bmi has the second largest presence after British Airways. She will report to Katherine Gershon, bmi's sales and marketing director.
In her new role Ms Day will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships for bmi, as well as public relations.
Ms Day will work alongside bmi's in-house corporate communications team, supported by PR agency Four Communications.
Ms Day brings with her more than eight years' experience in the travel industry. Most recently, she was PR manager for Gold Medal Travel Group and three of its brands. She has also worked for MyTravel brands such as Airtours, going Places and Tradewinds.
