Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has appointed Jean-Francois Ferret as chief executive officer effective from September 2018.
Based in SLH’s London headquarters, Ferret will be responsible for the company’s international teams and will lead the strategic direction of the brand’s luxury portfolio of more than 500 hotels in over 80 countries.
Ferret brings extensive experience to SLH, having most recently worked at the French association Relais & Chateaux, where he was CEO for more than six years. During his tenure, the company grew its brand awareness and international sales and developed a new digital platform.
Prior to this, Ferret was director general of Hertz France, and was previously managing director and president of Manpower France.
He has more than 30 years’ experience, including roles at American Express Travel, Thomas Cook and Compass Group.
Ferret replaces Filip Boyen, who has resigned after holding the position of CEO for three years.
Jerome Tourbier, president of the advisory board of directors of SLH, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Jean-Francoise Ferret as CEO. His experience and talent will enable the organisation to take another step forward in developing the activities of our hotel members and to grow the SLH brand internationally. His knowledge and expertise within the travel, hospitality, luxury and technology industries are key assets needed within the fast-changing and developing digital landscape.”
Ferret added: “Small Luxury Hotels of the World has gone through significant change in the last few years and I look forward to leading the talented international teams in further strengthening the brand’s operations and global footprint.”
