Ole Orvér
Former Finnair chief commercial officer Ole Orvér has been appointed as the new CEO of airline alliance oneworld.
Orvér, who has more than 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, will join oneworld on 1 April. He replaces the alliance’s outgoing CEO Nathaniel Pieper who joined American Airlines as chief commercial officer in November 2025.
Robert Isom, American Airlines’ CEO and current chair of oneworld's governing board, said that Orvér would “deliver on the slate of forthcoming customer-first initiatives,” which are designed to strengthen the alliance.
Orvér, who is a Swedish national, has also held senior roles at Qatar Airways, Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines and SAS Scandinavian Airlines during his career.
“By combining our global reach with shared innovation and a relentless focus on excellence, I look forward to delivering even greater value to our members, their customers, and the communities we serve," said Orvér of his new role in a statement.
Oneworld’s members include IAG-owned airlines British Airways and Iberia, as well as American Airlines, Finnair, Qatar Airways, Qantas, Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
