Online venue booking platform MeetingPackage has strengthened its leadership team with a number of new appointments.
Mika Kiljunen, chairman of the company's board for the last three years, has joined the organisation as chief operating officer and relocated to Finland. He has more than 30 years' experience in the travel and hospitality industry.
“I have been following the company closely as chairman of the board, and as I finished my latest project in Asia and relocated back to Finland, it was a brilliant time to join MeetingPackage,” said Kiljunen.
“I can bring the needed structure and processes to the organisation as we are soon closing our Series-A round of finance, which will enable our accelerated growth,” he added.
In addition, Jussi Virtanen has joined the company as VP of design, having previously worked for a number of Nordic scale-ups including Smartly, Freska and Nosto.
And Ahti Urb has taken up the position of engineering manager. He was previously CTO at Omniva and worked for more than ten years at Skype.
The Finnish company aims to have 100,000 bookable venues within its platform by 2025.
