Joanna Chugh
Marriott International has appointed Joanna Chugh as area vice president for the UK, Ireland and Nordics.
In her new role, Chugh will be responsible for 60 managed hotels in this northern European region, covering brands such as JW Marriott, W Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, Residence Inn and Autograph Collection.
Originally from Dublin, Chugh was previously vice president, finance operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, where she was responsible for Marriott’s 1,000 hotels in the EMEA region.
Gonzalo Aguilar, chief operating officer, Europe, at Marriott International, said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce that Joanna will take up this new role.
“With a career spanning several operational and financial leadership roles across multiple regions, she brings extensive hospitality experience, strong relationships with our ownership community and comprehensive knowledge of hospitality.”
Chugh started her career in the hotel sector in 1992 and joined Marriott in 1996 as rooms service manager at the London Marriott Marble Arch. She is also part of Marriott’s Female Leadership Initiative, which is designed to provide “high-potential female team members with the tools to accelerate their careers” at the company.
