Sven Thaler
European airline giant Lufthansa Group has promoted Sven Thaler to become its senior director of sales for Northern Europe covering 11 countries.
Thaler, who will be based in London, will now head up commercial and sales activities of all the group’s airlines in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, as well as countries in the Nordic and Baltic regions. He will report directly to Lorenza Maggio, who is vice president of sales EMEA for Lufthansa Group Airlines.
Previously, Thaler held the position of Lufthansa Group’s regional manager for ground operations continental North. He takes over his new role from Heinrich Lange who is returning to Germany to become the group’s head of digital retailing.
Thaler will lead a regional team which includes local general managers such as Frank Wagner, who oversees the UK, Ireland and Iceland markets, Victoria Bubmann in the Netherlands and Flemming Nordestgaard in Denmark and Norway.
