Thomas B Meier
Dubai-based hotel company Jumeirah has promoted Thomas B Meier to become its new chief executive officer and drive its “global growth ambitions”.
Meier, who was previously chief operating officer and interim CEO at Jumeirah, will be tasked with “spearheading” the company’s plan to double its portfolio in the next five years.
Swiss national Meier has been acting as CEO since February 2024 after the departure of Jumeirah’s previous CEO Katerina Giannouka.
Currently, Jumeirah operates 30 properties in the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa. The company has recently made its debut in Africa with the opening of resorts in Tanzania and South Africa, as well as expanding in Europe with Jumeirah Le Richemond Geneva in Switzerland.
The company’s next opening will be Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in Dubai, which is set to make its debut during the first quarter of this year.
“As we gear up for the opening of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab and continue to expand into new markets, I am honoured to lead Jumeirah’s next chapter,” said Meier.
“With bold ambitions, Jumeirah will continue to innovate, staying ahead of industry trends and exceeding the ever-evolving expectations of the most discerning guests. Our vision is to establish Jumeirah as one of the foremost influential hospitality brands worldwide.”
