Abrahamson switches to IHG
Jim Abrahamson has left Hyatt and joined rival hotel chain InterContinental Group (IHG) as its new president for the Americas.
Mr Abrahamson who was head of development for the Americas at Global Hyatt Corporation, takes up his new post in the New Year.
He takes over from Richard Solomons, group finance director, who held the post on an interim basis after Steve Porter stood down through ill health. Mr Porter has since died.
Mr Abrahamson has 30 years' experience in the hotel industry and before joining Hyatt, worked for Baymont Inns and Woodfield Suites as president and chief operating officer and for Hilton Hotels Corporation in a variety of management roles.
