Javier Mejía new head of Amex in Spain
Javier Mejía has taken over as the new director general of American Express Barceló Travel in Spain.
He succeeds Angel Garcia Butragueño who is stepping down.
Mr Mejía, currently vp sales and customer relations, joined American Express in 2000 as director of multinational accounts and was promoted to general director of business travel for the Brazilian market in 2005.
In his new role Mr Mejía will be in charge of 550 staff divided into three divisions: business travel, incentive trips and organising meetings and conferences.
