Widener starts in his newly-created role on June 1 and will provide strategic and operational leadership for the meetings and events business across all regions, as well as incorporating technology into the division.
He originally joined CWT in 2006 as senior vice president sales and global programme management EMEA. He previously worked for Sabre Travel Network and Amadeus France.
In his new role, Widener will report to Cathy Voss, executive vice president CWT global programme solutions and meetings & events.
