Extended stay accommodation specialist edyn has appointed Alastair Thomann as its new CEO - taking over from interim CEO Daniel Carre-Bishop who will continue in his role as chief financial officer.
Thomann has joined edyn from Generator and Freehand Hotels where he was CEO of both businesses. UK-based Edyn operates the Locke aparthotel brand as well as serviced apartment specialists Cove and Saco.
In his new role, Thomann will oversee the expansion of edyn’s brands around Europe, with plans to open a Locke property in Paris in February followed by a location in Copenhagen in early 2026.
Thomann said: “The past year has seen edyn deliver record revenue and open its biggest hotel to date, with the 370-key Locke de Santa Joana in Lisbon, and that success is testament to the extraordinary work of the team here, who I look forward to joining.
“I am excited to build on these strong foundations and drive edyn’s continued growth, harnessing the power of its innovation, design, and unique approach to hospitality.”
Edyn’s previous permanent CEO Stephen McCall stepped down in late 2023 when CFO Carre-Bishop was appointed as interim CEO while a replacement was recruited.
