Jones appointed new ceo of Amadeus IT
David Jones has been appointed to succeed José Antonio Tazón as president and ceo of Amadeus IT Group.
He will take up his new position on January 1 when Mr Tazón becomes non-executive chairman of the group.
Amadeus also announced that Luis Maroto will become deputy ceo in charge of corporate strategy as well as keeping his current role of chief financial officer.
Philippe Chérèque is also promoted to executive vp commercial, Mr jones's previous role.
Mr Jones, a Briton, joined Amadeus in 1992 as general manager of Amadeus marketing and senior vp of its global travel distribution.
He became executive vp commercial in 2000.
Before joining Amadeus, Mr Jones worked for BA, rising to director of corporate strategy and, prior to that with the UK Civil Aviation Authority.
Mr Maroto, a Spaniard, joined Amadeus in 2000 as head of the commercial finance department.
He was appointed chief financial officer in 2003.
