Lufthansa appoints deputy chairman
Lufthansa has appointed Christoph Franz, current ceo of SWISS, as deputy chairman of its executive board effective from June 1.
Mr Franz will also head a newly created executive board division responsible for Lufthansa Passenger Airlines, serving under the airline group's CEO Wolfgang Mayrhuber.
The new position is part of a re-organisation of Lufthansa's board of executives, with the number of seats going from three to four.
Harry Hohmeister will succeed Christoph Franz as ceo of SWISS, with effect from July 1. Lufthansa said Mr Franz would continue to be involved with SWISS.
