Hotel franchisor Choice Hotels International has promoted Stacey Werner Shapiro to vice president and assistant general counsel.
In addition to supporting multiple strategic business projects, Werner Shapiro will expand her role to manage the legal aspects of real estate and investment initiatives for the company’s upscale brand, Cambria Hotels.
Werner Shapiro joined Choice Hotels in 2009 and has since held a series of senior roles. Most recently, she was a senior legal advisor, where she provided strategic counsel on a range of topics. She also played a central role in the company’s acquisition and integration of Woodspring Suites.
Prior to joining Choice, Werner Shapiro served in various legal counsel roles in various industries.
Jeff Lobb, deputy general counsel at Choice Hotels, commented: “Stacey is a valued member of Choice Hotels’ legal team, having served as a dedicated business resource to numerous organisations within the company. The Cambria Hotels brand is a focused area of growth for Choice Hotels, and Stacey’s involvement in the legal, structural and strategic aspects of Choice’s Cambria investment initiative is an important supplement to the company’s efforts in support of the brand’s expansion strategy.”
