BCD Travel has announced the appointment of James Diaz as vice president of sales in the UK and Ireland.
Diaz, who was formerly UK CEO of Travel Planet, joins BCD following the recent closure of his start-up Absolute Travel Management, which he launched in early 2025.
BCD said that London-based Diaz would help to “strengthen” the TMC’s presence in the UK and Ireland and lead an expansion into “high-potential segments”, as well as helping to support growth in the energy, resources and marine sector.
“Customers in the region are looking for stability, partnership and innovation more than ever,” said Claudia Jackson, BCD’s managing director for the UK and Ireland. “James understands how to translate strategy into real-world results for customers.”
Diaz added: “I was drawn to BCD because of its reputation in the industry, vision for the future, and a culture that values experience and accountability. I’m excited to bring my experience to BCD to accelerate growth in the UK and Ireland.”
