BCD Travel has appointed Olivia Ruggles-Brise as the travel management company’s new vice president of sustainability.
Based in London, Ruggles-Brise will play “an integral role” in driving the TMC’s sustainability initiatives.
She was previously the director at sustainability consulting firm Greenview, and prior to that spent a decade at the World Travel & Tourism Council, where she oversaw the organisation's policy, strategy and sustainability work.
“I’m thrilled to bring my expertise in both travel and sustainability to BCD Travel at such a critical time in the current sustainability landscape,” said Ruggles-Brise.
BCD has achieved the top rating for its sustainability efforts for the past three years and, in 2021, it was the first TMC to commit to the Science Based Targets initiative. In July, its consulting arm Advito created a new environmental quality service index for clients to use during negotiations with airlines, and in August the two companies released an emissions calculator for meetings and events.

Ruggles-Brise will report directly to April Bridgeman, senior vice president at BCD Travel and managing director of Advito.
