American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has named Philippe Chérèque as president, effective immediately.
In this newly created position, Philippe will continue to oversee the commercial and product technology organisations, which he has successfully led the past two years, and will assume responsibility for supplier relations, marketing and consulting.
“Philippe’s new role is part of our larger strategic imperative to restructure our commercial group into regional teams in an effort to better serve our customers,” said Doug Anderson, CEO, American Express Global Business Travel.
“We are confident that this structure, under Philippe’s proven guidance, will foster a closer working relationship with our customers offering global reach and local expertise. Philippe’s expanded role solidifies our focus on growth and further sets us up to provide the best solutions and technologies, not only for customers and their travellers, but also for supplier partners.”
Additionally, with respect to the structure of GBT’s regional sales efforts, Elyes Mrad and David Reimer will continue to lead sales in both the EMEA and APAC regions, respectively, while Philippe will lead sales efforts in the Americas on an interim basis.
