Liz Emmott has been appointed as Amadeus’ new general manager for the UK and will take up the role from April 1.
Emmott, who will be based at Amadeus’s Gatwick office, moves up from her current position of sales director at Amadeus IT Group.
She will replace Champa Magesh who moved to Singapore earlier this year to take up the role of vice-president, Retail Travel Channels, Amadeus Asia Pacific.
Emmott will have responsibility for overseeing business strategies and continuing Amadeus’ initiatives to drive growth for its customers.
Magesh said: “I am delighted to be entrusting the UK business into the capable hands of Liz Emmott. Although it’s tough to say goodbye to such a dynamic market, I’m confident that Liz’s appointment will ensure the company gears up for even greater success in 2018.
“I have worked alongside Liz for more than two years. She demonstrates tireless enthusiasm, commitment to meeting the needs of the market and the ability to understand the challenges and opportunities facing travel sellers.
“Liz brings a depth of business experience gained from working across travel and the payments industry, which will be a huge asset as she takes the helm at Amadeus UK. I’m confident that Liz and the rest of the UK team will continue to build on the success of local partnerships, working together to shape the future of travel in new and exciting ways.”
