NBAA, the long established US business aviation show, for the first time played host to two British airports. Held at short notice in Orlando last week, after its original site at New Orleans became untenable, business jet operators were able to learn first hand what London Southend and London Biggin Hill airports had to offer. ABTN normally drops the London moniker for airports but has to admit that the name London does help when explaining your location to Americans even if it is some miles away. Another company within the Regional Airports Group, Northolt Handling, also participated. Southend is attempting to build on what has been a 40% increase in business aviation over the past year. This has mainly come from the fractionals, especially NetJets, which regularly uses the airport.
