Marriott has opened its first Courtyard property in Taiwan as the brand continues its expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
Courtyard by Marriott Taipei is located in the Nangang district of the Taiwanese capital and occupies the 7th to 30th floors of a building above the Citylink Shopping Mall complex, which also includes the Nangang Station rail hub.
The property features 465 rooms and three food and drink outlooks, as well as a fitness centre and a 500sqm ballroom, which can be divided into up to eight different function spaces. It is also the first internationally-branded hotel in the Nangang area of Taipei.
Henry Lee, chief operations officer for Marriott International, Greater China, said: “Nangang is the new heart of Taipei city and home to a host of technology companies.”
The Taipei property is the 36th Courtyard hotel in the Asia Pacific region. Marriott now has more than 1,000 Courtyard-branded hotels in 40 countries across the globe.
