BROOKLANDS own Concorde G-BBDG opens to the public from tomorrow.
Visitors will be treated to what the museum calls ”The Concorde
Experience” flying Mach 2.2 and over 50,000 ft including all the right
noises and an articulate BA captain giving the commentary. Last week
Prince Michael of Kent, president of the Brooklands Museum trustees
officially dedicated the aircraft, the first British Concorde and flown
on by HRH in 1974, prior to commercial service. For the occasion
Prince Michael wore the same tie as he wore over 30 years before.
Brooklands, unique in being the cradle of motor racing and aviation,
is expected to see a big rush of visitors with the new exhibition. It
celebrates 100 years in 2007, the world”s first purpose-built motor
racing circuit.
