BACA, the long established (1945) Baltic Air Charter Association, presented its first dedicated air transport 'Excellence Awards' at the splendid and ancient Ironmonger's Hall in London”s Barbican last week. Unlike most honours of this type the winners are selected in a vote by member companies. Best passenger airline award went to Virgin Atlantic, cargo to DHL whilst Dubai picked up the international airport honours. Mike Kay, the former British World Airways sales director, now based in Paris, proved to be an entertaining and informative MC.
London Town Crier Peter Moore helps with the presentation to Andrew Biggin, Head of Commercial Systems at Virgin Atlantic, by Wendy Murphy, CEO, Direct Air Charter.
