APRO, the London based Airline Public Relations Organisation, held its annual travel writers lunch and AGM last week with former Freedom To Fly chairman Dame Brenda Dean as guest of honour and Qatar Airways the sponsor. Dale Keller of Air Malta (see left) was elected chairman and Wednesday 14 April announced as publication date of the APRO airline/airport directory. Dame Brenda was unable to answer the question ”where do we go from here?” the Freedom to Fly group specifically created as a broad based industry collective dealing with the now published government white paper on the future of airports. It has now been disbanded, Dame Brenda agreeing that there was a role for such an organisation in the future and saying that it was for the industry to decide what sort of vehicle was required.
