From midday on 19 November, the UK’s NHS Covid Pass will
display proof of a third Covid-19 vaccine dose for those travelling to
countries that require this.
The addition of third and booster jabs to the pass, which is
available through the NHS App, will enable those who have had a third dose to prove
their status for travel to countries such as Israel, Croatia and Austria, which
have introduced a time limit for the vaccine to be valid for quarantine-free
travel.
It comes as European nations begin a more concerted effort
to increase vaccination rates amid rising Covid-19 infections.
Booster doses will not be added to the domestic NHS Covid
Pass at this time, which is required for entry to some venues and events,
because the UK government has not yet made third doses mandatory for proof of
full vaccination. Booster doses are currently only being offered to over-40s
and people with some immune conditions.
Third doses will also not be required for inbound travel to
England “at this time”, according to the Department of Health and Social Care.
