Workspace provider Regus is expanding faster than expected in 2013 with more than 400 new centres set to open this year.
The company had planned to open around 350 new centres in 2013 but is now on course to open between 420 and 440 new facilities by the end of the year.
Currently, the operator has 1,687 centres and 288,406 workstations around the world which has helped sales to increase by 22.4 per cent year-on-year to £1.31 billion for the first nine months of the year. The company expects to pass the 2,000 centre milestone during 2014.
Regus’ recent growth has been boosted by its purchase of rival operator MWB in February 2013 and also by signing deals with UK motorway service station operators Welcome Break, Moto and Roadchef to provide facilities for business travellers.
“Given the scale of the opportunity presented by the fundamental changes in the way people and businesses work, we now plan to invest more in growth this year which will bring us closer to our short-term target of 2,000 centres during 2014,” said the company in an update to investors.
“However, as always, we are ready to scale back our growth plans if market conditions dictate that it would be prudent to do so.”
