Business Travel News (BTN) has won four accolades in the
prestigious Business Travel Journalism Awards for 2021.
The awards, organised by travel management company CWT and
taking place for the 18th consecutive year, are judged by an
independent panel of travel managers, industry experts and communications specialists.
They recognise distinguished business travel journalists across multiple
categories.
BTN’s global editorial team has been named Editorial Team of
the Year for the second year running, with judges praising the group’s “insightful
features which artfully unpick pertinent industry issues”, highlighting in
particular the ‘Sustaining the Future’ supplement.
Meanwhile, Mark Frary won the award for New Media for his
work on the BTN Europe Week in Review podcast series, which judges chose for tackling
pressing issues “with poise and urgency”.
The award for Features Journalist of the Year – Ground Transportation
went to Rob Gill for his BTN Europe feature ‘Driving Change’ on how car rental
has become more important than ever as we emerge from Covid.
This year’s BTJAs featured a special award for the most insightful
analysis and commentary on the post-pandemic return to travel and meeting and
events, which was won by BTN Europe contributor Amon Cohen for his article 'Return to Tender'.
According to CWT, the awards received “hundreds of entries”
this year.
Julian Walker, CWT’s head of external market communications
and PR, who sat on the judging panel, said: “The 2021 Business Travel
Journalism Awards once again uncovered new and exemplary talent in business
travel writing along with a raft of new ideas from more established
journalists. The entrants proved skilful in characterising the main drivers and
developments of a complex and dynamic industry.”
