AirPlus International, the global travel payment solutions company, has introduced a new flexible invoice format for its corporate clients to allow them greater control when managing accounts.
FlexEbill gives customers their CSV (Comma Separated Value) files in a preferred format, eliminating the need to convert each invoice and enabling the information to be fed directly into the client”s account system.
Electronic invoices can be configured using FlexEbill via the AirPlus website and once specified preferences can be changed and details updated at any time. One advantage of the electronic system is that no internal interfaces need to be configured, allowing the data to be fed directly into the ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.
Invoices that are sent electronically also significantly reduce error rates, as data is no longer entered manually, in addition to freeing up resources, speeding up procedures and reducing waste paper.
A recent survey of more than 1,000 travel managers conducted by AirPlus revealed that on average 48% of companies are conducting some form of electronic billing. Unsurprisingly, larger companies are leading the way, with 70% using an electronic system, followed by 58% for medium-sized businesses and 40% for smaller organisations.
Every third company across the ten countries surveyed said it intended to introduce full electronic ticketing in the future.
