ATPI Marine & Energy has introduced a fully integrated travel solution for organisations operating in Africa as it announces new partners to its network in Mozambique and Mauritius.
Operated from Durban, South Africa, ATPI’s Africa Gateway was developed to address the challenges faced by shipping and energy firms operating in different locations across the continent. It includes access to specialist consultants and on-the-ground teams.
A dedicated team also monitors security threats to ensure traveller safety, providing multi-lingual speakers to help travel programmes adhere to cultural and governmental requirements.
Through ATPI’s traveller tracking technology, pre-trip reporting and travel risk maps, Africa Gateway also provides organisations with visibility to fulfil duty-of-care obligations. The TMC says this can mitigate risks and offers advice around specific challenges, such as sending staff to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where airlines in the market are subject to an EU ban.
In addition, ATPI said Africa Gateway enables invoicing in local or multiple currencies, which is a key component of the continent’s various localisation policies.
The solution has been launched as ATPI Marine & Energy announces new partners Shamal Travels and Tours in Mauritius and Cotur Travel & Tours in Mozambique. The companies will work with ATPI to enhance the Africa Gateway.
ATPI expects its footprint on the continent to expand further over the next six months.
Africa Gateway is currently providing travel management and logistics in locations such as Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Mauritius, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Judy ‘JP’ Peplinski, global head of energy at ATPI, commented: “With the economic landscape constantly changing and travel becoming more complex, it has never been more vital for businesses travelling in Africa to work with a travel management company that specialises in safe, efficient and compliant travel.
“Through our proprietary technology and a century of sector experience, ATPI Marine & Energy has created the Africa Gateway solution to keep organisations compliant with local and legal requirements while providing full visibility and immediate access to data. This allows us to focus on consultative service, expertise and support while navigating the logistical, safety and financial nuances of travelling and operating in Africa. We look forward to working with our new partners and continuing to expand our service offering to support our clients across the continent.”
ATPI Marine & Energy recently won a major contract to provide travel management services to Inpex Operations Australia.
