Transport for London (TfL) is now running more train services between central London and Heathrow airport, as the new Elizabeth Line underground service finally prepares to open.
TfL Rail’s services from Paddington station to Heathrow Central for Terminals 2 and 3 have been doubled to four trains per hour, with two of these services continuing to Terminal 5.
The much-delayed Elizabeth Line, also known as Crossrail, is due to open before the end of June but no date has yet been given for its opening.
The current TfL Paddington-Heathrow train service, which takes around 28 minutes, will then become part of the new underground line, with passengers heading to central London being advised to change at Paddington for the new Elizabeth Line stations, which include Tottenham Court Road, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Whitechapel and Canary Wharf.
