Nordic low-cost carrier Primera Air plans to ramp up transatlantic service next year, including new service to Brussels, Berlin, Frankfurt and Madrid. The carrier, which operates a transatlantic fleet of five Airbus A321neo aircraft and 10 Boeing NG737 aircraft, has ordered 20 Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft for its expansion.
The new service, on which Primera Air will offer fares as low as $149 for one-way service, will include:
- From New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, daily service to Berlin beginning June 7 and daily service to Frankfurt beginning June 16
- From Newark Liberty International Airport, daily service to Brussels beginning May 9 and daily service to Madrid beginning July 16
- From Toronto, three flights per week to Berlin beginning June 9, daily service to Frankfurt beginning June 21 and service three or four times per week to Madrid beginning Aug. 16
- From Boston, service to Brussels four times per week beginning June 2, service to Berlin four times per week beginning June 9, service to Frankfurt four times per week beginning July 16 and service to Madrid three or four times per week beginning Aug. 16
- From Washington Dulles, service to Brussels four times per week beginning June 2
- From Montreal, service to Frankfurt three times per week beginning July 16
Primera kicked off its transatlantic plans last year and operates flights from London Stansted Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Newark, Toronto and Boston, as well as service between London and Washington Dulles. Some of those routes have fares starting at $99 for one-way. The carrier also plans to begin service between Montreal and Paris on Oct. 28.
