Dubai has become the third most popular business destination from Europe according to new research from BCD Travel.
In its latest Cities and Trends Report, the travel management company says the emirate has climbed from fifth place in 2015, pushing Beijing and Singapore down the ranking. The full rankings are shown below.

Note that these cities are ranked by number of flights so train routes such as London-Paris are not included.
The rise is partly due to Dubai's plan to become the world's busiest airport (see When will Atlanta be overtaken as the world's busiest airport? and Busiest airports from London). Its rise may have been dented
by the US laptop ban on flights from the emirate but the lifting of those restrictions this week should see it continue its rise.
The emirate's diversification of its economy to reduce its reliance on oil and gas has also helped and many major IT, finance and media organisations have regional bases there.
BCD Travel also looked at the spread of flights among domestic, intra-European and intercontinental.

The BCD research also shows that September is the busiest month of the year in terms of numbers of business flights, closely followed by October. As you might expect, December and July and August are the least busy months.
