Low-cost carrier Wizz Air has launched its Travel Planning
Map, a continuously updated website search tool designed to help passengers
determine which of the airline’s destinations they can fly to at that moment in
time and inform them of coronavirus-related travel restrictions.
According to the airline, customers can use the tool to check
operating routes and relevant rules using a colour-coded system. Passengers
click on their desired departure airport and then can choose from Wizz Air’s
available network at that hub. Destinations highlighted in green are those with
no restrictions to enter the country via air, yellow means there are partial
restrictions such as testing, quarantine, or a residence requirement, and red
means there is a full or partial entry ban.
To find further information on travel regulations,
passengers can click on specific routes to take them to a country-level
information page that includes relevant links to local government websites,
useful travel pages and any mandatory pre-departure forms that need to be
filled out.
While the map is updated daily at 1800 CET, Wizz Air said it
recommends passengers check entry requirements again before departure, as
restrictions are subject to change. The carrier also advises passengers to add
the Flex option to their tickets, which allows them to change their date of
travel or destination if new rules mean they can no longer fly to their
original destination.
