Lufthansa was forced to cancel two flights yesterday after wildcat strikes by workers at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.
According to reports in the French press, the German carrier’s staff all called in sick on yesterday morning leaving no one available to manage passengers on nearly two dozen flights departing and arriving in the French capital.
Extra staff were brought in by the airport operator to help process customers.
It has been reported that Lufthansa unions in France were protesting tight staffing and a shortage of managers over the Christmas holidays.
Passengers are being advised today to check the status of their flight online.
