WestJet will start new services between Calgary and Amsterdam in August, the carrier has announced.
WestJet will operate two flights per week between the two cities on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft starting 5 August, increasing to three times per week on 9 September. Alberta minister of jobs, economy and innovation Doug Schweitzer in a statement said the service plan "shows how close we are to having international travellers come back to Alberta." Canada currently remains open for the most part only to citizens and permanent residents but is in discussions to ease restrictions for vaccinated visitors.
WestJet also plans to restart service to London Gatwick in July, with two weekly flights from Calgary and three weekly flights from Toronto, according to the carrier.
