Vueling is expanding its operations at Gatwick Airport including the addition of five new routes.
The carrier, which is owned by BA-parent IAG, plans to base two aircraft at Gatwick and is adding a twice-daily service to Malaga, four-times-weekly services to Menorca and La Coruna and three-times-weekly services to Seville and Granada.
The new services come on top of existing operations from Gatwick to Barcelona, Rome, Bilbao and Florence which are increasing in frequency.
Services to Paris-Orly, Valencia and Santiago de Compostela are operating as normal.
Vueling’s announcement further boosts recovery at Gatwick and the carrier joins other airlines including British Airways, Wizz Air, Emirates, Turkish and WestJet in increasing its schedule from the airport.
Stephanie Wear, vice president of aviation development, Gatwick Airport, said: “Vueling’s commitment to Gatwick is really positive news for both the airport, our partners and the local economy, as we continue to grow back following the impacts of Covid. The news also shows how attractive airport slots are at Gatwick.
"The additional services Vueling will now be able to offer to Spain and Italy – including new routes to Seville, Granada and Menorca - is excellent news for passengers across London and the South East, providing more choice and competition to popular destinations.”
