Russian airline Transaero is to consolidate all of its Moscow flights at Vnukovo airport from next month.
The struggling airline said the decision was made for “commercial and logistic” reasons by concentrating all flights to a single Moscow airport.
Transaero also said this will help with the efficiency of aircraft maintenance.
Vnukovo airport is located around 11 kilometers from MKAD (the Moscow ring road, considered as the border of Moscow) and 28 kilometers from the center of the capital. It is linked with the city with three highways and Aero Express train service.
Transaero has been operating flights from Moscow Vnukovo airport since 2012.
Government-owned Russian flag carrier Aeroflot announced last month that it would acquire Transaero.
