Swiss has launched a range of new travel services, including allocated seating.
The new ‘Swiss Choice’ range gives passengers the options of reserving their preferred seat in advance, arranging an “in-flight treat” for themselves or guest and pre-ordering in-flight duty-free items.
Under the new ‘advanced seat reservation’ option on Swiss’ website, a standard seat can be reserved for around £6 in Europe or around £19 on long-haul flights.
A ‘preferred zone seat’ will cost around £12 in Europe and £32 long-haul. An ‘extra-legroom seat’ is available for £23 on European services and around £65 on long-haul flights.
Swiss, the national carrier of Switzerland, said seats can be reserved any time from 11 months to 48 hours before departure, for any flights from July 15 onwards.
“In offering these new service products we are fulfilling the desire among our customers for greater individual flexibility in their travel planning,” said Markus Binkert, Swiss’ chief commercial officer.
“And we’ll continue to steadily expand the range of our extra services here, in close alignment to our customers’ wishes and needs.”
Swiss also confirmed it plans to introduce booking additional baggage in advance later this year.
