British Airways are among a host of airlines to cancel flights this weekend due to severe snow storms across the US east coast.
Storm Jonas is expected to cause widespread disruption at many US airports this weekend, leading to cancellation warnings.
BA has today announced there will be no flights to or from Washington, Philadelphia or Baltimore on Saturday January 23. It’s also reviewing services to and from Newark and JFK where “significant disruption” is expected.
BA said it expects flights to and from Boston to operate as normal across the weekend.
Passengers booked to fly on services to JFK, Newark, Washington, Baltimore, Boston and Philadelphia up until January 24 are able to change their booking free of charge.
Virgin Atlantic has strongly recommended passengers rebook their flights as they warn of disruption and potential cancellations to many US services.
Etihad Airways has cancelled flights between Abu Dhabi and Washington this Saturday, and says that flights to and from New York and Washington are likely to experience significant delays and some cancellations up until January 25.
US carriers are also amending their schedules, with American Airlines cancelling all flights from Philadelphia, Washington National, Baltimore/Washington and Washington Dulles on Saturday.
United is suspending all services to and from Washington Dulles from 1600 EST today.
The carrier also says it will not operate any United Express flights at Newark on Saturday, but plans to operate “a limited number of mainline United flights” from the airport.
All airlines have advised passengers to check schedules before they travel and rebook if possible.
