Stobart Air, which operates Aer Lingus regional routes, has
announced it will begin a phased resumption of international services from 14
July.
The airline said it will be following Covid-19 safety guidance
from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Centre
for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), including the mandatory use of
facemasks on board and enhanced deep cleaning and disinfecting of aircraft
after each flight. In-flight services will be suspended to reduce interaction
between crew and passengers.
At the airport, Stobart Air said it is introducing new
boarding and disembarkation procedures to reduce passenger interaction, with people
boarding and exiting the aircraft in small groups according to seat row
numbers. Passengers will scan their own boarding pass at the gate and show
their passport or ID to a staff member.
Services relaunching on 14 July include the Dublin-Edinburgh
and Dublin-Glasgow routes to facilitate essential travel. Further flights will
resume across August and September, including from Dublin to Aberdeen, Birmingham,
Bristol, Isle of Man, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Newquay, from
Cork to Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester, and from
Shannon to Birmingham. Stobart Air said it will continue to monitor passenger
demand so it can increase frequencies accordingly.
